Frequently Asked Questions
What hardware and software do I need to access reports online?
For your connection to the Internet, we recommend a modem with a baud rate of 28.8 or higher. An ISDN-, DSL-, or a dedicated connection through your company's Local Area Network (LAN) is preferred.
In order to access Insightek's Report Center through the internet, you will need an internet browser that supports secure websites using the following security:
  • For U.S. Customers: 128-bit encryption (also called domestic-, U.S.-grade, or strong encryption), to encode information so that it cannot be read by someone other than you.
  • For International Customers: 40-bit encryption (also called international-, or weak encryption), to encode information so that it cannot be read by someone other than you.
  • Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) version 3.0 protocol, which ensures that communication between your computer and our Web server can't be interrupted or intercepted by an unauthorized user while you are accessing reports.
Both Netscape Navigator® or Microsoft® Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher meet these requirements. No other special software is needed.

*For more information on browser encryption, see our Security Information Help page.

If your browser does not meet the Insightek's requirements, use one of the following links to download an upgraded browser:
Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.0x 128-bit version. To upgrade to the enhanced Internet Explorer web browser with 128-bit encryption:
Netscape Navigator® 4.0x. To download the 128-bit version, choose the operating system, language, and product version; then select "Download strong U.S./Canada-only encryption if available"; then click on the "Download for Free" button.
If you have America Online, use the keyword UPGRADE.
Remember that once you've downloaded the proper browser, you must install it on your computer. Follow the browser manufacturer's instructions that appear on your screen.

How can I tell when my connection is secure?
To confirm that your information is encrypted perform the following steps:
Place your cursor in the frame you want to check.
With a Netscape browser, right-click, select 'View Frame Info' or select 'View' | 'Page Frame Info' from the browser menu bar. For Macintosh users, Ctrl-click, select 'New Window with this Frame' OR select 'View' | 'Page Info' from the browser menu bar.
With an Internet Explorer browser, right-click, select 'Properties.' For Macintosh users, Ctrl-click, select 'Open Page in New Window.'
Check the web address that you have accessed. If you are in a secure area, the address will appear as https://www. Notice the "s" in the address. This means that you have accessed a secure server.

Does my browser have Java and JavaScript?
The Java platform and JavaScript capabilities are incorporated into all major Web browsers. If you have Netscape Navigator 3.01 or higher, Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or higher, or later versions of America Online browsers, you have the ability to see Java applets (applications) and JavaScript features. Verify that your browser has JavaScript and is Java enabled.

What is Insightek's email policy?
We send several basic types of email to our customers:
  • Account Information: We use email to send account-specific information and other legal correspondence, such as new terms and conditions related to your account.
  • Reports: We use email to send some reports to our clients such as alarm situations and time-critical reports.
  • Special Opportunities: We also use email to send customers special deals and promotions that we think you would find valuable.
If you prefer not to receive special opportunity emails, simply email us with your request. Be sure to include your Name, User Name, and Account Name in the body of your email. Requesting that your name be removed from the 'Special Opportunities' mail list will not effect 'Account Information' and 'Report' email services.

What should I do if I forget my Password?
When you log in to the Insightek Report Center for the first time you are required to enter a 'Security Question' with a corresponding 'Security Answer' which only you would know. Then if you forget your Password, you can click the 'Forgot your Password?' link on the Insightek Report Center Login Page. It will ask for your Name, User Name, and Email Address, plus the answer to your Security Question. If you can answer all of these, it will allow you to choose a new password.

What should I do if I forget both my User Name and Password?
If you forget both your User Name and Password and you are not the Insightek Local Administrator for your account, you can ask your Local Administrator to look up your User Name. The Local Administrator has access to the list of User names for the local account, but not passwords.
If you cannot remember the answer to your Security Question, send us an email requesting that your Security Question and Answer and User Name/Password be changed. Be sure to include your Name and the Account Name that you normally access. Also include your phone number and when you can be reached. We will contact you to make the changes.
